A view from our seats

Memphis was very cold.  They got about 6-inches of snow earlier in the day.  Most of it had melted away by the time we arrived. 

We went straight to Rendezvous Charcoal Ribs.  It’s located down an alley 1 block from the Peabody Hotel.  Rendezvous was packed, even at 4:30 in the afternoon.  The ribs were dry.  I prefer Dreamland.

After the ribs, we went to the Peabody Hotel just in time from the ducks to exit the bath and head up the elevator to their suite.  We didn’t get to see the ducks because there were so many people in the lobby.  We visited the trendy shops in the Peabody before we had a cup of coffee and some dessert.

We walked 4 blocks to the FedEx forum.  It’s a huge upgrade over the Pyramid where I’ve seen the Grizzles play in the past.  Our seats ended up being better than I thought they would be.

I’ve now seen Labron James in his rookie season, the 2002 L.A. Lakers in their championship season (Shaquille O’neal, Kobe Bryant, Robert Horry, and Phil Jackson), and Kevin Garnett score his 20,000th point in Memphis.

Note to self:  Kevin Garnett is more impressive than Shaquille O’neal.  KG is a 7-foot point guard.

Note to self:  Boston scored 37 points in the first quarter and only missed 4 shots while hitting 5 3-pointers.  They have the best record in the NBA and I see why.
